Evans Makori Nyaemo was a vocal fighter for what he believed, and put the needs of others above his own. He was a man of the people who’ll be remembered not only for the lives he touched while at the University of Nairobi, but also those he stood up for in other spheres of his life.

Evans joined the Students Organisation of Nairobi University (SONU) in 2002 as a campus representative. He demonstrated strong leadership and a passion for improving students’ welfare. He was a change agent who had grand dreams of the future. He also had extraordinary patience.

After graduation, Evans joined the Dagoretti North constituency’s CDF committee under the leadership of area MP, Simba Arati. He strategically positioned himself as a beacon of change and compassion even as he prepared for his 2022 bid. This dream has, however, been cut short by the cruel hand of death.

Life is a journey, and all of us have travelled different distances, but Evans’ mission was an inspiring one. He worked hard and would honestly celebrate your achievements and make you feel special. This world has not lost just a man, a father, a friend, but we all have lost an icon and a Kenyan who embodied hope, love, unity and peace. While you may be gone physically, you will remain alive in our hearts forever. Fare thee well Mokoyone.
