Alex was a true gentleman and honest to fault. He loved his family, both nuclear and extended, and will be remembered as a man of the people who held his elders in high regard. He did not speak much, but what he said carried careful thought and wisdom. He had a subtle sense of humour and calm demeanour. Alex believed that God was behind all his achievements; he always credited the good things in his life to ‘Ebenezer’. We will miss these qualities, but we know they will remain firmly etched in our hearts. We know from Psalms 73:26 that although our flesh and hearts may fail, God is the strength of our hearts and our portion forever.

Alex was the beloved husband of Sheillar Mirenja Musalia of Kenya Airways and father of Lisa Vakhoya Kisiang’ani. He was a son of the late David Wakapisi Mukwe and Rose Vakhoya Wakapisi. He was a brother of Ruth (KU), Christine (MOL), Janet (Kitale School), Mildred (Youth Fund), Stephen, John, Juliet and Brenda Khayaki. He was a nephew of Hon James Mukwe (MP Kabuchai), Jamin Situma, Ezekiel Kisiang’ani, Javan Wakoba, Robert Wamunyinyi, Allan Barasa, Zipporah Mwembe, Hellen Nakhisa and Margaret Situma, among others.

Alex was a son-in-law of the late Aggrey Musalia and Tafroza Musalia. He was a bother-in-law of James Watiti (CABI), Charles Nalianya, Samuel Wanjala, Bromely Mwenesi, Josphine, Mercy, Purity, Collins, Levinah, Dilys, Kenneth Njuguna and Oliver Muresha among others. He was a cousin to many.

Alex, who was attached to the Civil Registration headquarters, died on August 26, 2018 at MP Shah Hospital, Nairobi. He will be laid to rest today at Birunda Farm in Kitale, Trans Nzoia County.  In God’s hands you rest; in our hearts you live forever.
