It’s with deep sorrow and humble acceptance of God’s will that we announce the death of Dr. Christopher John Kirubi, CBS, who passed away on June 14th 2021 after a long illness bravely borne. He was loving father to Robert Kirubi and Mary Ann Musangi. Father in law to Kim Kirubi and Andrew Mukite Musangi and grandfather to Christopher Kirubi Jr, Andrew Kirubi, Danielle Kirubi, Mara Musangi and Gina Musangi.

Dr. Kirubi was a brother to the late Salome Wambui, Elizabeth Waithera, the late Cosmas Njuguna, Tony Maina and Prof. Michael Gichuhi (formerly of USIU). He was uncle to many.

Until his demise, Dr. Kirubi was serving the Republic of Mauritius as its Honorary Consul in Kenya, since November 2016. He has also served the Republic of Kenya in many capacities, most recently as the Chairman of Brand Kenya Board. He also served the Republic of Ghana as its Consul General in Kenya and Permanent Representative to the UN (2000-2008).He served in the Harvard Global Advisory Council (Massachusetts, USA).

He had many business interests spread across the Manufacturing, Media, Real Estate, Insurance and Investment Sectors of our economy. He was a Director and majority Shareholder in the Centum Investment Group. He was also Chairman of Haco Industries, Capital FM, Coca-Cola Nairobi Bottlers, DHL Worldwide Express, International House Limited, and Smart Applications International among others. He was Deputy Chairman of Bayer East Africa Limited.

Friends and family are meeting at his Loresho residence every day from 5 – 7 p.m. Funeral details will be announced later.

A memorial service will be held at FEM Family Church, Karen, on Fridy 18th June 2021 at 11.00 am.

Due to thr need to observe COVID-19 protocals, we understand that not everyone can be able to attend the services. Wewill therefore stream them live on www.chriskirubi.com. Church parking strictly at Don Bosco and the Waterfront.

Dress code: A touch of red.

He willl be laid to rest at his Bendor Farm, Thika, on Saturday 19th Junne 2021 at 11:00am.
