She wore many hats. She was a mother, a nurse, a teacher, a businesswoman and a staunch Christian. This is not to mention that she was a dear friend and neighbor to many people, and with her kindly acts she made a difference in the lives of those she interacted with.

She was born October 6, 1950, the firstborn daughter to the late Ishmael Kipkore Koimur and the late Eunice Koimur. It was here, in Kipsuyo village, Moiben Location, Elgeyo Marakwet, that she was born and brought up.

The late Elly was married to the late George Fello and together they were blessed with two children, namely Tony Kibet (USA) and Gabriella Jepkoech. She was blessed with three grandchildren – all in the USA.

On receiving her basic education at Chebara primary School, Elly worked as a nurse at Kapsowar Mission Hospital. She later joined Mosoriot Teachers College, after which she taught in various schools including Chebara, Kapkoros and later Fluorspar Primary School where she eventually retired.

On retirement, she engaged in some business in Eldoret town for several years.

Besides her life and times in the classroom, in the business arena and in the hospital wards where she served, Elly was an active member of AIC Fellowship Eldoret.

She passed away on February 16, 2019 while undergoing treatment at the Moi Teaching and Referral Hospital.

The late Elly Fridah Jerop Koimur was laid to rest on March 2, 2019 at El-farm Chepkanga, along Eldoret-Iten Road.
