My mum, you were my first teacher, my first confidant and my first guide. My love, I love you. I treasure you and miss you. God gave me the best mum in the whole world, the most loving, kind and caring person I knew.

I will forever cherish our moments together. Mum, I shared my dreams with you, I mentioned to you all my heart’s desires but now all those desires are behind my back.

I now have only one desire – to go to heaven – and that’s because I know that is where you are and because I want to see you again. To many she was an icon, an inspiration; to me she was my mother and all the above.

Mum, if I ever become half the woman you were, I will consider my life successful.

Rest in peace, mum, till we meet again.
